Wheaton, Ill. -- With the 2025 NCAA soccer seasons coming to an end, United Soccer Coaches has announced this year's All-Region Teams for the Division III men's game. After helping lead Wheaton to its second-straight CCIW regular season title, four Thunder student-athletes have garnered All-Region honors from the organization for their strong performances this fall. Goalkeeper
Jack Krahel and forward
Luke Vander Kolk have been named to the Region VIII First Team, while defender
Wes Seneff has earned a place on the Second Team and midfielder
Craig Rusin has picked up Third Team recognition. These accolades mark the first career All-Region nods for each player, while four is the highest number of All-Region selections for the men's soccer program since the 2014 season. Wheaton is the only CCIW side to see two of its players pick up First Team honors this year.
Krahel, a graduate student from Mableton, Georgia, ended his Thunder career in outstanding fashion by being recognized as the 2025 CCIW Goalkeeper of the Year and a First Team All-CCIW honoree. He joins former teammate and assistant coach
Mason Escalante as a First Team All-Region goalkeeper after the latter's recognition in 2024. In his debut season as a starter for Wheaton, Krahel saved a league-high 89% of the shots he faced in CCIW play and boasted a 76.4% mark overall while keeping five shutouts in league competition, the most that any keeper has registered since 2013. He finished the campaign with a conference-best seven total shutouts, and his 0.63 goals-against average in CCIW competition was the best in the league this year. Krahel played every minute of Wheaton's 18 games this fall, the only player in the squad to do so. The veteran shot-stopper tallied 10 saves in his Senior Night game against Millikin University, the highest single-game mark by a Thunder goalie since 2021, and saved a North Park penalty kick in the conference tournament semifinals. Additionally, Krahel was named the CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week on October 7, October 14, and October 21 of this year, making him the first men's soccer player in CCIW history to ever earn three-consecutive conference player of the week awards.
Vander Kolk, a junior from Stamford, Connecticut, joins Krahel on the First Team after also earning First Team All-Conference recognition this fall. He started all 18 matches for Wheaton this season and finished his second campaign with the program by tallying 27 points, the second-most in the conference. Vander Kolk set career-highs in points, goals, shots on goal, and minutes this season, leading the line all year en route to the Thunder's second-consecutive conference trophy. The forward finished the season with 12 goals, good for second in the league, and led all CCIW players with six game-winning strikes. He also tied for third in the conference in shots on goal, directing 29 of his 59 attempts on target. Vander Kolk enjoyed a six-game scoring run between September 13 and October 4 of this year during which he netted seven goals, the longest consecutive streak by a Wheaton player since 2015. The Connecticut native led the CCIW in game-winning goals in conference play with three, notching the decisive finishes against North Park, Augustana, and Carthage on Wheaton's road to the title. Vander Kolk was recognized as the CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on September 2 after a two-goal, two-assist showing in the Thunder's season-opening win over Chapman University.
Seneff (

men's soccer player to earn the conference's Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year accolade. He appeared in 15 matches for the Thunder this fall and helped the team keep five clean sheets while also logging two points on the offensive end from assists against Elmhurst and North Central. Seneff was a key leader of Wheaton's stout defensive unit that topped the conference in goals-against average this year with a 0.63 mark and conceded just five times in eight league contests. He started in seven of the Thunder's eight CCIW fixtures and helped his side earn four shutouts in those matches. He also played the full 90 minutes of Wheaton's home game against the University of Chicago when the Thunder became one of just three sides all season to hold the nationally-ranked Maroons scoreless.
Rusin (

sophomore from Crown Point, Indiana completed his first season with the program by starting all 18 games and logging the most minutes of any outfield player for the Thunder this year. He tallied 13 total points this fall, the second-most on the team, and tied for third in the conference in assists with seven to his credit. Rusin led the Thunder with 10 points in conference play and tied for the team lead in assists with four, both of which were the fourth-highest totals in league play this season. He also scored two game-winning goals, one of which was the decisive finish at Carroll University that clinched Wheaton's outright regular season title. Rusin finished the year with three multi-point games, including a two-goal, one-assist outing against Millikin University. That five-point performance was the second-highest total in a single conference game this season and earned Rusin the CCIW's Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week award on October 28.
