Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's golf team competed in a pair of events during last week's spring break trip to Arizona. On Wednesday, the Thunder competed in a match play event against Carthage College, falling 4-1. The following day, Wheaton placed first out of three teams competing at the Arizona Christian University Spring Break Shootout.
Kylie Monson headlined Wheaton's first place finish at the ACU Shootout, earning medalist honors with a round of 76 to top the field by four strokes. Marin Halversen tied for fourth with a round of 83.
Rachel Goranson shot an 89,
Ellie Laymon carded a 90 and
Karissa Raschke shot a 105. Wheaton's team score of 338, topped the host Firestorm by one stroke. College of Saint Benedict finished third with 343.
In the stroke play event, Halversen won her match-up with a round of 86.
