Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's soccer program will host a CCIW Tournament semifinal match on Wednesday. The winner of the CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
Wheaton is the No. 1-seed in the 2016 CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament and will host fourth-seeded North Central on Wednesday November 2 at 7:00 p.m. Second-seeded Illinois Wesleyan will host third-seeded Carroll on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the other semifinal. The 2016 CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament Championship match will feature the advancing team from each semifinal, playing at the highest remaining seed on Saturday November 5. If Wheaton is the highest remaining seed following the semifinals, the Thunder will host the Championship Match on November 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Wheaton has won a league-best 12 of the 14 CCIW Tournaments that have been held since the event began in 2002. Augustana (2009) and Illinois Wesleyan (2010) have each won the tournament once.
Ticket prices are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors and youth/students under 14, and children under five-years-old will be admitted for free. Students with valid CCIW school ID shall be admitted free of charge. As a CCIW Championship event, no CCIW parent passes, faculty/staff ID's, or Thunder season passes will be honored.
