home run off the left field foul pole on the first pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning. Two pitches later, Peltz laced his second double of the game to chase Elmhurst starter Ivan Nevarez. Following the pitching change, a Kimmel groundout moved Peltz up 90 feet before he scored on a Matt Schappell infield single. A single by Justin Swider and a double to left by Trey Martin cut the score to 8-6 with just one out in the inning. Johnson (PICTURED RIGHT) came through again with a deep double to left-center field that tied the game at 8-8 and brought about another Elmhurst pitching change. With two outs, Jake Portugal and Howe walked to load the bases but Peltz' deep fly ball was tracked down in right field to end the inning.

Daniel Bayer held the Bluejays in the top of the ninth and two-out walks to Swider and Martin put the winning run in scoring position but Johnson flew out to second base to send the game to extra innings. In the top of the 10th, Elmhurst was able to pin two runs on Bayer to take a 10-8 lead on a two-run single by A.J. Compton and the Thunder went in order in the home half to seal the victory for the visitors. Bayer was the tough luck loser, throwing four and a third innings of relief and allowing just the two runs while strucking out and allowing only two hits.
