Jack Gill and Mason Diel earn All-CCIW honors

Wheaton, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its 2026 All-CCIW Baseball Team on Tuesday evening. Two members of the Wheaton baseball team earned All-Conference recognition as sophomore shortstop Jack Gill was named to the All-CCIW First Team, and senior designated hitter Mason Diel was a Second Team selection. 

Gill earns his first career All-Conference award, picking up the recognition as an infielder. The sophomore shortstop leads Wheaton (players with more than 30 GP) in batting average, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, total bases and slugging percentage this season. Gill has a .373 (59-for158) batting average, with 41 RBI and 43 runs scored this year. He has five home runs, 16 doubles and has 22 walks. Gill is slugging .620 this season and has a .457 on-base percentage.

Mason DielIn 20 CCIW games this season, Gill has hit for a .375 (33-for-88) batting average with 23 RBI and 26 runs scored. He has three home runs and 11 doubles in conference play, with 10 walks drawn. The sophomore has a .625 slugging percentage with a .440 on-base percentage in the 20 conference contests.

Diel (PICTURED LEFT) picked up Second Team for the third time in his career, also earning the honor in 2022 and 2024. Diel is tied for the team lead with six home runs this season. He has a .325 (40-for-123) batting average, ranks second on the team in on-base percentage (.462) and is third on the club in slugging percentage (.562). Diel has seven doubles with 19 runs scored and 28 RBI.

In 20 CCIW games this season, Diel has hit for a .348 (24-for-69) batting average with 19 RBI and 12 runs scored. He has five home runs and seven doubles in conference play, with 15 walks drawn. The sophomore has a .667 slugging percentage with a .483 on-base percentage in the 20 conference contests.

Jack LindsayThe CCIW also announced the baseball winners for each team of the RESPECT Award. Senior pitcher Jack Lindsay (PICTURED RIGHT) is Wheaton's recipient of the RESPECT Award. At the conclusion of every sports season, each varsity program will recognize one student-athlete as their RESPECT Award honoree. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
