reached on an error and came around to score on Trey Martin's single to left field. Two batters later, John Jensen-Johnson roped a single to center field to plate Martin with the second run of the inning.  Benedictine answered with an unearned run in the home half to half the Thunder lead to 2-1. Wheaton added another run in the top of the second inning on Swider's sacrifice fly but the Eagles again plated a run in the bottom half to make it 3-2.

A two-run single by Johnny Peltz in the top of the third inning and an RBI single by Josh Kimmel (PICTURED RIGHT) in the top of the fifth inning to stake Wheaton to a 6-2 lead. Benedictine chipped into the lead with a run each in the sixth and seventh innings to cut the lead to 6-4 but Bishop cleanly shut the door to earn his first save of the season.
