MEET RESULTS

Chicago, Ill.
- The Thunder men's and women's swim teams opened their season on Saturday with a dual meet at the University of Chicago. Chicago was victorious in both the men's and women's meets with the men winning by a margin of 162-64 and the women by a score of 136-101. Several Thunder veterans swam faster times than their season opening meet a year ago leaving Thunder mentor Jon Lederhouse pleased and encouraged by his team's performance. Wheaton's freshmen also made a mark on the event with big event wins by Kayla Roberson in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.90) and Chris Dingfield in the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.59).

Lederhouse also highlight the performance of fellow freshmen Hanna Allen (second in 200-yard butterfly in 2:14.70) and Addison Coen (second in 200-yard backstroke in 2:01.56). Both also played a role in several Wheaton relays. Wheaton's medley relay team of Kirsty Nitz, Erin Bagley, Katie Deysher and Katie Cialkowski won the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:59.11, over nine seconds faster than the field.  Nitz and Cialkowski teamed with Sarah Coley and Kelly Ormond to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:38.04, almost six second ahead of the field.  Nitz won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.16. Deysher won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:13.37.

Jacob Clement won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:46.25, three seconds faster than the field. Clement was also second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:58.58. Jack O'Connor took a couple of runner-up finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (22.03) and the 100-yard freestyle (49.33). Will McCauley was second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:10.57, less than a second behind Chicago's Jonas Fowler.
