Port Charlotte, Fla.

Trailing 7-0, Wheaton manufactured a run in the bottom of the third when Trey Martin singled to drive home Matt Schappell. After surrendering another run in the top of the third, the Thunder took advantage of some Baldwin-Wallace miscues to get back into the game. In the bottom of the third the Thunder pushed across six runs on just four hits while sending 11 hitters to the plate. Kyle Mellinger had an RBI sacrifice fly and Justin Swider and Phil Tuttle (PICTURED RIGHT) recorded RBI singles in the inning.

Peter Moran escaped a bases loaded jam in the top of the fifth and the Thunder had an opportunity to tie the game in the bottom half but couldn't come up with a hit to drive home a run and ended up stranding two of the 15 runners in the inning. Wheaton ended the game hitting 4-for-26 with runners in scoring position.

Wheaton loaded the bases with just one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, but couldn't manage more than a Josh Kimmel RBI fielder's choice and pushed across just one run. Wheaton pushed across another run in the ninth on a Martin RBI-single.

Wheaton will continue its spring break on Friday with a games against Ohio Wesleyan (1-2) at 11 AM EST and #2-ranked Marietta (6-1) at 3 PM EST.
