Wheaton, Ill.
- The Wheaton men's soccer team made a triumphant return to Joe Bean Stadium on Friday night, earning a 2-1 double overtime victory over the Titans of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  Wheaton (8-3-2) had not played at home since a September 14 victory over Calvin.  Josh Clark sent the home faithful home happy with a blast past the Titans' Nick Barry in the 102nd minute.

Wheaton owned the flow of play early in the match before striking the scoreboard first with the 14th minute.  Sophomore Adam Blackman netted his team-leading seventh goal of the season off an assist from Noah Anthony, his sixth of the year, to give Wheaton the early 1-0 lead.

Much of the remainder of the half was spend in the middle of the field as both teams thwarted the attacks of the other.  Statistically the first half was even with both teams attempting seven shots.

The Titans (5-2-3) evened the match early in the second half when Evan Krause scored on a direct free kick from just outside the box, netting the match at 1-1.

Oshkosh seemed to control the pace of the match throughout the second half and the score remained tied at the end of regulation.  Oshkosh outshot the Thunder 13-12 in regulation while Wheaton owned an 8-6 edge in corners.

After a scoreless first overtime, a bit of individual brilliance led to Wheaton's game winner.  Outnumbered in the attack, Marshall Hollingsworth was able to slide a short through ball to lead Clark who found the angle and blasted the ball past Barry for the 2-1winner at 101:45.

Wheaton outshot the Titans 5-0 in the overtime periods leading to a 17-13 overall advantage.  Barry made five saves while allowing two goals in 101:45 for UW-Oshkosh.  Thunder keeper Ryan Seager allowed one goal and made one save.

Wheaton will return to action at 7 PM on Wednesday night, when they travel to North Central to take on the Cardinals in a CCIW contest.
