GAME STATS Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory against University of Chicago (9-5-0) on Wednesday night under rainy conditions at Joe Bean Stadium. Tonight's win improves Wheaton to 13-2-2 on the year. The Thunder will travel to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday for a 5 PM CCIW match against the Titans.
Wheaton tallied its goal early in the match as the Thunder converted on its first scoring opportunity of the night just 4:40 into the match to take the 1-0 lead. Junior

Sarah Guidera. Wheaton went on to hold a 9-2 advantage in shots in the first half and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
Each team attempted two corner kicks in the second half. The Thunder held an 11-2 edge in shots following the halftime intermission, including a 7-1 edge in shots on goal. Chicago goalkeeper Jacinda Reid stopped all seven shots on goal with some strong play in the net.

Hilary Barreto made three saves in 90 minutes of work in the net to record her third shutout of the 2012 season. Reid made nine saves on the night for the Maroons, allowing just the early goal in the opening minutes.
