Aurora, Ill. – The nationally-ranked Thunder women's soccer improved its season-opening win-streak to five games on Monday with a 2-0 victory at Aurora University. Wheaton will put its win streak on the line on Saturday night with a 6:30 PM match against Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
In Monday's match, Wheaton and the Spartans battled through a scoreless contest a little more than 30 minutes.
Jaime Orewiler broke the scoreless tie at the 33:28 mark of the match when she netted her second goal of the season off of a
Keri Shannon assist. Wheaton maintained its 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first half, holding the 1-0 edge at halftime.

Sarah Guidera increased Wheaton's lead to 2-0 just two minutes into the second half when she recorded her fourth goal of the year off an assist from senior
Katelyn Kishkunas.
Wheaton out-shot the Spartans 15-6, while Aurora held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Thunder goalkeeper
Hilary Barreto made three saves in posting the shutout for the guests. Aurora netminder Liz Wong made six saves and allowed two goals in the Spartans' net.
