Men's soccer drops a 1-0 decision at Wabash College

– The Wheaton men's soccer team lost a 1-0 contest at Wabash College on Wednesday afternoon. Wabash is now 6-4 on the season, while Wheaton is 2-5-3. The Thunder will return to action on Friday night at 7 PM when #16-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh visits Joe Bean Stadium for Wheaton's Homecoming activities.

Wheaton and Wabash battled through a scoreless first half on Wednesday as the Little Giants out-shot Wheaton 7-5 in the half. The hosts broke the tie in the 69th minute when Wabash's Tommy Pecar scored on a header off of an Allan Swan assist.

Following the Wabash goal, Wheaton out-shot the hosts 5-2, with a 2-0 edge in shots on goal. However, Wheaton was unable to score the equalizer as Wabash goalkeeper Ian MacDougall saved Wheaton's final shot attempt in the closing 30 seconds of the match.

Wheaton out-shot the Little Giants 15-13 in the match, with a 6-5 edge in shots on goal for the 'Orange and Blue.' Wheaton had six corner kicks in the match, while Wabash was awarded two. Wheaton goalkeeper #Ryan Seager made four saves and allowed one goal in 90 minutes of action in the Thunder net. MacDougall made six saves for Wabash as he and the Little Giants' defense recorded the shutout.
