Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory against University of Chicago on Tuesday night at Joe Bean Stadium. Wheaton, ranked 21st in this week's NSCAA Division III Top-25 poll, is now 8-2-0 on the year. The Thunder has won its last four matches, with shutout victories in three of those four contests. Chicago is now 5-3-1 on the year.

Katelyn Kishkunas kicked a well-placed corner kick that was headed by
Kristen Clark over Chicago netminder Emma Gormley to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Wheaton maintained its lead for the remainder of the first half. Wheaton out-shot Chicago 8-5 in the second half, with a 3-1 edge in shots on goal. The Maroons had a strong scoring opportunity in the 87th minute; however, the guests' shot went wide left.

Maddie Allen made one save in 90 minutes of work in the net, as she and the Thunder defense recorded their fifth shutout of the year. Gormley made six saves in the Chicago net, with one goal allowed. Wheaton out-shot the Maroons 16-7, with a 5-1 edge for the hosts in corner kicks.
The Thunder will return to action on Tuesday at 4:30 PM when the squad hosts Aurora University as a part of Wheaton's Homecoming activities.
