Kenosha, Wis. – The Wheaton College women's soccer team, ranked 12th in this week's NSCAA Division III Top-25, was a 6-0 winner at Carthage College (7-5-2/0-3-0 CCIW) on Wednesday afternoon. The six goals recorded by Wheaton in the victory are the most by the Thunder in a match this season.
Today's victory marked the eighth consecutive win for the Thunder, improving to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in CCIW play. Wheaton will remain in conference action on Saturday night at 5 PM when it travels to Naperville to face North Central.

Sophomore
Keri Shannon (PICTURED RIGHT) scored Wheaton's first goal on Wednesday with her first of the season in the 14th minute off of a
Jaime Orewiler assist. Junior captain
Ali Kopelman extended Wheaton's lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 32nd minute that was assisted by
Brittany Bergh. Orewiler extended Wheaton's lead to 3-0 in the 35th minute off of a Kopelman assist to give Wheaton a 3-0 lead it would hold at halftime.
Three minutes into the second half, Orewiler netted her 10th goal of the season from an assist by Bergh to extend the guests lead to 4-0. In the 52nd minute junior
Katelyn Kishkunas registered a goal off of a Shannon assist. Wheaton's final goal was scored by Kopelman in the 70th minute when she booted one into the back of the net off of an
Amanda Brait assist.
Wheaton out-shot the Lady Reds 19-6, with a 13-4 edge in shots on goal. Wheaton attempted eight corner kicks in the match, while Carthage had one. Freshman goalkeeper
Maddie Allen started the match in the net for the Thunder, playing the first half with no goals allowed. Sophomore
Hilary Barreto maintained the shutout for the guests, making four saves in the second half. Carthage netminder Kelsey Harrington made seven saves and allowed six goals for the Lady Reds.
