Chicago, Ill. – The No. 4-ranked Wheaton College women's soccer team lost to No. 15-ranked University of Chicago 3-1 on Tuesday.
The Thunder fell to 8-2 on the season while the Maroons improved to 8-1.
The hosts got on the board twice late in the first half at 39:59 and 43:50. The lead was pushed to 3-0 soon after halftime at 50:29.
Wheaton's lone goal came from
Keri Shannon, who netted her second goal of the year from 35 yards out. The Thunder outshot the Maroons 25-20 in the game.
Hillary Barreto took the loss after allowing three goals with eight saves. Chicago's Emma Gormley made nine saves while allowing one goal.
The Thunder resume their CCIW schedule with a 7:00 PM home game on Thursday against North Park University.
