Kenosha, Wis. – The Thunder baseball team had its memorable CCIW Tournament run ended on Saturday in a 12-3 loss to Carthage in the championship round of the tournament. Wheaton advanced to the championship round for the first time in school history with the program's first two CCIW Tournament wins: against Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan.
Wheaton now has a 23-19 record on the season, tying the single-season record for victories, which was also set last year.

Josh Weaver hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the second inning to cut the Red Men lead to 3-2. Carthage added two runs in the top of the fourth and seven in the top of the fifth to take a 12-2 lead. Thunder first baseman

Carthage earned the 12-3 win by scoring 12 runs, on 10 hits, with two errors and the Thunder plated three runs, on eight hits, with three errors. Starting pitcher
Zach Fallon took the loss in four innings of work. He allowed seven runs, five of which were earned on seven hits, with a strikeout. Junior
John Pohl pitched 1/3 of an inning of relief, allowing five runs, on two hits. Freshman
