Chicago, Ill. - A goal from Ann Turner was the only score needed as the Wheaton College women's soccer team beat host University of Chicago 1-0 in their NCAA Tournament Second Round match-up on Saturday.

The No. 24-ranked Thunder improved to 17-4-1 on the year. The No. 11-ranked Maroons ended their season with a record of 15-4-1.

The two teams also met at Stagg Field earlier in the regular season, as Chicago beat Wheaton 3-1.

Saturday featured a rematch of that earlier game, with bigger stakes involved. The two teams played evenly throughout, and only one goal proved necessary for the win.

At 34:29 in the first half, Turner snuck a 15-yard shot over the head of Chicago goalkeeper Emma Gormley to give the Thunder a lead they would not relinquish.

Chicago outshot Wheaton 11-9 in the game while the visitors held a 3-2 corner kick advantage.

Thunder goalkeeper Hillary Barreto picked up her eighth shutout of the year with three saves. Gormley made one save with one goal allowed for the Maroons.

Wheaton advances to next weekend's Sectional Semifinal of the NCAA Tournament. The Thunder will face the winner of Sunday's Second Round match between Washington (Mo.) and Illinois Wesleyan in St. Louis, Mo. The site of next weekend's Sectional will be announced by the NCAA on Monday morning.
