Q: What is your major?
A: English: Writing, and Communications

Q: Who is your favorite golfer?
A: I’m a sucker for Tiger Woods. He is my generation’s golf superstar, and I feel like I’ve grown up watching him. I watched him when I was ten years old win the 1997 Masters and I have been rooting for him ever since. He is the best golfer in the world, and someone all golfers desire to emulate. He also sets a good example off the course, with his family life, and the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Q: Why did you choose to attend and golf at Wheaton?
A: I desired to be at a school where faith would be prioritized above everything else, and that is what drew me to Wheaton. I also desired to play in an established program that would provide a certain level of competition, and the women’s golf program fit that.

Q: What is your favorite thing about playing golf at Wheaton?
A: My teammates, by far, have been the best part of my golf experience at Wheaton. Golf is very much an individual sport, and it’s easy to lose the “team” aspect when you’re going through a round. Spending time with my teammates and growing as golfers and individuals has been a truly amazing experience.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?
A: There is so much I love about Wheaton, but one thing I especially appreciate is the education I have been blessed with here. I look forward to going to class, and am actually sad I have to miss it so much for golf tournaments! The professors here are brilliant, and the things I have learned I know will stick with me for a long time. I love learning and studying the world with the foundation of the Scriptures always in mind. It’s something unique to Wheaton that not many places can offer.

Q: Where were you, and what was your reaction when you found out that your team would be participating in the 2009 Division III Championships?
A: I was packing up my apartment and getting ready to leave for the summer when a teammate called with the news! We were all shocked, but so excited to participate in the experience. I was so thankful that our seniors would get to experience the National Championships, because both of them had given so much to the program during their time at Wheaton.

Q: What was the experience like of playing at the Division III Championships?
A: Being part of the first Wheaton golf team to compete in a National Tournament is an accomplishment I am so proud to have been a part of. Playing with the best women in the Division was an honor, but also an eye opener to the level of competition that is in Division III Golf. After having experienced the National Tournament, I believe our team has been motivated to set our goals higher, and continue to develop the women’s golf program to become one of the most competitive teams in Division III. I’m looking forward to this upcoming year, and hope that competing in the National Championships will become an annual event for Wheaton women’s golf.
