Q: What is your major?

A:
Applied Health Science (Pre-nursing)

Q: What (if any) plans do you have after graduation?

A:
After graduation I plan to complete an accelerated nursing program close to home in St. Louis. Then I will continue to take master’s courses toward becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I would love to end up working close to home and settle down there near all my family. All of this, of course, is my plan…but ultimately I’m going to end up where God wants me to be. So I’ll just go with the flow and see where He leads me.

Q: Why did you choose to attend Wheaton and play volleyball?

A:
It was actually a pretty simple decision for me. Wheaton was the only college in my radar that offered a great Christian education and the opportunity to play volleyball. I would have taken the Christian environment without the opportunity to play the sport I love, but with them combined it almost made the decision a no-brainer for me. I knew that there could be nothing better than playing volleyball with women who love God and share the common desire to become more and more Christ-like. I wanted to attend a school that would challenge my faith, offer education from amazing Godly professors, and provide friendships with more brothers and sisters in Christ that will last the rest of my life. Wheaton has fulfilled all those desires and volleyball has been a huge part of that.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?

A: As I’m sure almost every Wheaton student would say…the people. The friendships I have gained are irreplaceable and are truly a gift from God. I can’t imagine what life would be like without them. God has brought the most amazing people into my life at just the right times and has challenged me and taught me so much through all the friends and professors I have had here. And on a lighter note, I really enjoy how after a Wheaton winter we all bust out our shorts on the first day it hits 45 degrees.

Q: What is your favorite volleyball memory so far in your time at Wheaton?

A:
Favorite volleyball memory by far was in the 2010 season when we upset #1 seeded-Millikin at the CCIW conference tournament. They were undefeated in conference, had ended Carthage’s 10-year undefeated streak in conference, and set a record at their school for consecutive wins in a season. We came in as the definite underdogs and upset them 16-14 in the 5th set of the match on their home court! The feeling I had as I stood in the circle with my teammates at the end of the match is indescribable and I’m so thankful for that moment…that’s not an emotion that everyone gets to experience.
