Elizabeth Worsowicz will return to the Thunder women's tennis team in 2009-10 for her sophomore season, following a freshman campaign that saw her earn Division III All-American recognition in doubles competition. An Applied Health Science major at Wheaton from Columbia, Missouri, she was the 2008 CCIW Championship MVP.

Worsowicz posted a 21-4 record at number-two singles as a freshman and a 27-5 record in doubles competition, advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships with partner Jordan Hook. Below is a brief interview with Elizabeth.

Q: Who is your favorite tennis player (past or present)?

A: Ana Ivanovic

Q: Why did you choose to attend and play tennis at Wheaton?

A: Being able to play tennis and having a strong Christian community were main criteria for me when looking at schools and Wheaton had both and when I came to visit I just loved the team and the strong focus that they brought to Christ even through tennis.

Q: What do you appreciate about playing for coach Nelson?

A: She is such a strong person and never ceases to encourage me to be a better person and player.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?

A: I love the people at Wheaton and the strong community that exists.

Q: Can you talk a little bit about the experience of playing at Nationals as a freshman?

A: It was such an honor to have worked that hard and been able to go. The atmosphere is so much more competitive because these are the best girls in DIII tennis which brings such a feeling of excitement! It was so nice to be going with Jordan too, because she has been there many times before, so she knew the routine and its so much more fun when you can share something like that with a teammate.
