Wheaton College Athletics

Jonny Tink is a junior on the Thunder men's golf team.  Earlier this season Jonny shot a tournament-best 71 at the Carthage College Fall Classic.  Below is a brief interview with Jonny.


Q: What is your major?
 
A: Business/Economics
 
Q: What (if any) plans do you have after graduation?
 
A: I’m not even close to knowing yet. I’ll go work somewhere, whether it’s at a golf course or some important business, and hopefully be in charge of a lot of people.
 
Q: Why did you choose to attend Wheaton and play golf?
 
A: Both of my brothers came to Wheaton College and had great experiences. Their influence along with the prestige that Wheaton is known for sparked my interest from an early age. Being able to come to Wheaton, with its great academics and Christian atmosphere and people was definitely something that I wanted to be a part of. Golf has always been a big part of my life so having a pretty solid team here at Wheaton was also a very significant aspect for me.  
 
Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?
 
A: I guess I would say the quality friends I have been able to make through the years here. There are a lot of good people here. I have made friendships that I know will last a very long time.
 
Q: What is your favorite golf memory so far in your time at Wheaton?
 
A: That’s a tough question. We have so much fun together as a team on the golf course and various golf trips. Those times are always so much fun. I guess my most memorable tournament so far would be the Taylor Invite at Purdue’s course my sophomore year. We had some tough conditions, but I played really well and won and we dominated as a team.
