Boyer is the sixth Wheaton student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American this year
Wheaton, Ill. -- The organization of College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its 2025-26 Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America Teams, and Wheaton's
Tess Boyer has been named to this year's Division III Second Team following her decorated junior season. Boyer garners the prestigious accolade once again after collecting CSC Academic All-District recognition and numerous athletic achievements in 2025-26, including a CSCAA First Team All-America award at last month's NCAA Division III Swimming Championships. Today's announcement marks Boyer's second-consecutive CSC Academic All-America nod after also earning Second Team honors last season. The third-year student-athlete is one of only three juniors in Division III women's swimming to earn First or Second Team status in 2025-26, and she is the only female swimmer from a CCIW institution to be named to this year's Academic All-America teams.
Since 1973, student-athletes from Wheaton College have earned a total of
125 Academic All-America selections through the esteemed program. Wheaton has produced at least one CSC Academic All-American for the past 26 years. Wheaton's
26-year streak is the current longest streak among CCIW schools and is the eighth-longest active streak in NCAA Division III.
Boyer's selection to this year's national team marks the 100th Academic All-America honor for the school since the year 2000. Wheaton Athletics currently enjoys a streak of having at least one student-athlete be recognized as an Academic All-American in every school year since 1998-99. As the fourth Thunder women's swimmer in program history to be named an Academic All-American, Boyer is now the team's first two-time honoree since Kirsty Nitz ('16).
The Academic All-America® program honors student-athletes annually who have succeeded at the highest level in athletics and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their current institution. Since the program's inception in 1952, CSC has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Division I, II, III, NAIA and junior colleges covering all NCAA championship sports.
