Tess Boyer set to represent Wheaton at the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships in March

Wheaton, Ill. -- After repeating as the CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Year and leading the Thunder women's team to the conference title last weekend, Wheaton junior Tess Boyer has qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division III Swimming Championships. The Kansas native will take part in three events at next month's meet in Indianapolis, including the 400 IM, in which she earned Second Team All-America recognition at last year's NCAA Championships. This year's finals are set to take place between March 18-21, and Boyer will compete on the first three of those dates in her return to the national stage.

The decorated third-year swimmer won three individual gold medals and three relay titles at last weekend's conference championships in Wisconsin to repeat as the league's top women's swimming student-athlete. As was the case last year, Boyer is once again the only women's swimmer from the CCIW to earn qualification to this year's national meet. She claimed conference titles in the women's 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard butterfly competitions last week, and she will swim in these three events again at the NCAA Championships, which will be held in the IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University Indianapolis.

Boyer will participate in the women's 200 IM on Wednesday, March 18th, the women's 400 IM on Thursday, March 19th, and the women's 200 fly on Friday, March 20th. She enters the NCAA meet owning the fourth-best seed time in Division III in the 400 IM (4:21.41), the 13th-best time in the 200 IM (2:03.72), and the 38th-best time in the 200 fly (2:06.29).

The preliminary races for all events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM (EDT) on each day of the meet, while event finals will start at 6:00 PM (EDT) every evening. NCAA.com will provide a free video stream for the Championships, and a live result link will also be made accessible through the Wheaton Athletics and NCAA websites.
