Mateo Anderson earns CCIW Men's Diving Student-Athlete of the Week recognition

Wheaton, Ill. -- The CCIW conference office announced the newest round of weekly swimming and diving honors this afternoon, and Wheaton senior Mateo Anderson has been named the Men's Diving Student-Athlete of the Week after his successful return to competition on Saturday. Anderson is the second Thunder men's diver to earn the accolade this season, joining teammate Zachary Kohoutek, and today's nod is the fourth of his collegiate career.

Anderson returned to the Wheaton squad ahead of last weekend's Thunder Invitational after studying abroad in the Fall 2025 semester, and he wasted no time in putting in a headline performance in his first competition of the season. The Connecticut native took 11 dives off of the 1-meter and 3-meter boards on Saturday, and he earned scores of 345.80 (1-meter) and 313.55 (3-meter), both of which lead the Thunder team on the season and are currently second-highest in the CCIW this year. His high-scoring showings helped power Wheaton to a first-place finish in the three-team meet.

Anderson and his Thunder teammates will close out the regular season with a dual meet at Augustana College on Saturday afternoon.
