Peoria, Ill. -- The 2025 CCIW Men's Golf Championship continued at the WeaverRidge Golf Club this afternoon, as nine conference teams completed the second of this weekend's three rounds of play. Friday's action saw minimal movement in the team standings, and Wheaton remains in third place heading into the tournament's final round. Senior Jonah Swartz still leads the way for the five-man Thunder squad in the individual field, while Wyatt Brown had today's best score for Wheaton.

The Thunder shot a combined team mark of 296 (+8) this afternoon, improving their Thursday performance by one stroke for a total score of 593 (+17) in the event so far. Wheaton is now seven strokes behind second-placed Millikin and nine shots ahead of Augustana and North Central, who are tied in fourth place on a combined score of 602 (+26). Illinois Wesleyan retained its comfortable position atop the standings on Friday, once again shooting a 280 (-8) to stretch its advantage over the Big Blue to 26 strokes.

Swartz tallied a score of 74 (+2) on Friday's second 18 to put himself on a competition total of 143 (-1) heading into Saturday's decisive round. The South Dakota native is currently tied for fifth on the 45-player leaderboard, five shots behind the tournament leader from Illinois Wesleyan, meaning that he is in a good position to earn another All-Conference accolade tomorrow. The sophomore Brown dramatically bettered his first-round performance on Friday by carding a 70 (-2) on today's 18 to jump up to a tie for 12th place with an overall score of 148 (+4).

Sam Obitts is close behind Brown on a two-day total of 150 (+6) after registering a two-over 74 this afternoon, putting the senior in a tie for 16th place in the solo standings. Freddie Chan replicated his Thursday showing today by carding another round score of 78 and now owns a mark of 156 (+12) for the event. Jackson Swartz is one stroke behind his fellow freshman on a two-round score of 157 (+13) after tallying an 83 in today's play.

The third and final round of this year's conference championship will begin at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning, with the Swartz brothers book-ending Wheaton's tee-off order. Jackson will start his round at approximately 10:10 AM, and Jonah will begin play as part of the event's final group around 10:50.
