Wheaton, Ill. -- The 2025 Wheaton Invitational began inside Lederhouse Natatorium on Thursday evening, as the Thunder diving teams started the three-day annual meet by taking part in two event categories. Wheaton was the only one of the seven competing programs to field divers in this year's invite, so no team scores were kept. Five student-athletes registered official point totals for the men's and women's squads this evening.

Sophomore diver and reigning CCIW Women's Diving Student-Athlete of the conference championships Lara Stamp returned to the lineup tonight and logged the top score in both the women's 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. The Indiana native tallied a 341.10 mark from the 3-meter board and a 313.90 measure in the 1-meter event. Junior Renata Marantz was the only other women's diver to compete on Thursday, and she earned a mark of 253.70 on the 1-meter board.

Three Wheaton men's divers took part in the 1-meter competition, and the freshman trio was led by Zachary Kohoutek, who registered a 264.15 count in the event. Sam Moss (pictured left) earned a 228.75 tally, and Emmitt Michel posted a score of  Sam Moss173.20. Moss was the lone male diver to leap off the 3-meter board tonight, and he garnered a mark of 240.95 from the high platform.

Wheaton's divers have completed their segment of this year's invitational and will now cheer on their swimming teammates in Friday and Saturday's programs. The men's and women's diving teams will next compete at the Illinois-Michigan Quad hosted by Kalamazoo College in mid-January.
