Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team hosted a non-conference opponent for the second-consecutive day on Saturday. The Lake Forest College Foresters rallied to top the Thunder 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Wheaton Tennis Courts.
The Foresters earned the one point that comes with picking up at least two doubles wins in the match. Lake Forest garnered wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Wheaton's lone doubles victory came from the team of
Janet Kondo and
Delaney Canning as the picked up a 6-2 victory against the LFC tandem of Emily Bross and Anika Kinnear.
Ella Malone was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 4 singles against Kate Feist of Lake Forest. Canning earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles versus Kinnear.
Tatum Thurstone was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in her match against Olivia Pandazi at No. 6 singles.
The Thunder are off until next Saturday when the squad opens conference play. Wheaton travels to Rock Island next Saturday for a match at 11:00 a.m. against Augustana.
