Orlando, Fla. - The Thunder men's tennis team won its fourth-straight match on Tuesday as Wheaton bested Trine University 7-2. Trine falls to 5-3 on the season, while Wheaton improves to 5-3.
The Thunder won two of the three doubles competitions today.
Cody Ching and
Tim Steiner defeated the Trine tandem of Sammy Yin and Andrew Spirrison 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
Jacob Williams and
Joey Geisz picked up an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles against Cole Goodman and Drew Dixon.
Steiner earned a 4-6, 7-6 (7-0), 1-0 (11-9) victory against Yin in their match at No. 1 singles. Giesz defeated Goodman 6-4, 7-5 in their contest at No. 2 singles. Ching earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 3 singles against Trine's Andrew Spirrison.
Evan Walther was a 6-2, 6-2 victor against Elijah Schilthuis.
Andrew Jang was a winner at No. 5 singles as he defeated Trine's Caleb Morris 6-0, 6-0.
The Thunder return to action at noon (EST) tomorrow as Wheaton takes on Wabash College at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
