Naperville, Ill. -- After a full weekend of competitions that saw each CCIW swimming program in action, the conference office announced its final round of weekly swimming and diving accolades in 2024 this morning. Wheaton sophomore
Tess Boyer picked up another CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week honor, her third of this season and sixth in total, following an impressive run of results at this year's Wheaton Invite.
Boyer won three individual events over Friday and Saturday's slate, achieving NCAA "B" cuts in both the women's 200 yard butterfly and 400 yard IM, with times of 2:04.53 and 4:26.78, respectively. Her time in the latter is a new meet record for the Wheaton Invite and is currently the 14th-fastest mark in the nation this year, while her 200 fly time is 19th in Division III this season. She also won the women's 200 IM with a new CCIW-best time of 2:06.28.
The Kansas native's contributions last weekend were not just limited to solo races, as she paired with
Olivia Wiebe,
Erin Davis, and
Katie Yonan to win the 400 yard medley relay and Yonan,
Kara Grace Hess, and
Scottie McKeaney to triumph in the 400 free relay, swimming respective splits of 57.2 seconds and 51.8 seconds in those events.
Boyer and her teammates have finished their 2024 competition slate and will return to the pool on January 11th for a home tri meet against Hope and Kalamazoo.
