Waukesha, Wis. – The Wheaton softball team traveled to Wisconsin for a conference doubleheader against Carroll on Tuesday afternoon. The Pioneers won the opener 5-1 and Carroll earned the seep with a 3-0 shutout of the Thunder in game two.
Carroll won today's opener against the Thunder 5-1 as the Pioneers scored five runs, on eight hits, with no errors and Wheaton tallied one run, on seven hits with one error. Thunder starting pitcher
Paige Andrews pitched four innings, allowing five runs, on six hits.
Elise O'Neil tossed two innings of scoreless relief, on two hits.
Isabel Hillyer had Wheaton's lone RBI in the opener. Hillyer was among seven Wheaton players to hit a single.
The Pioneers shut out the Thunder in game two, 3-0. Carroll scored three runs, on eight hits, with one error and Wheaton tallied no runs, on five hits, with four errors. Pitcher
Alese Antonello worked in the circle for the guests as she tossed seven innings, allowing three runs, with no earned runs. Antonello scattered eight hits, with one walk allowed.
Olivia Nahorniak hit a double for Wheaton in the nightcap.
