Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory against Augustana (3-3, 3-3 CCIW) at home on Saturday. The Thunder are now 6-2 overall and 5-1 in CCIW play. 

Augustana led the Thunder 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play. Wheaton's victory in doubles competition came from the No. 3 doubles team of Tatum Thurstone and Alexandra Wachs. The due picked up an 8-1 win against Augustana's Hattie Timerman and Maitreyi Shrikhande.

Madeline Gentry was a 6-1, 6-4 victor at No. 1 singles against the Vikings' Anna-Maria Huebel. Wachs earned a 6-2, 7-6 victory at No. 3 singles against Hannah Colbert. Lydia Adams defeated Augie's Natasha Gauerke 6-3, 6-3 in their match at No. 4 singles. Wheaton's Janet Kondo rallied to pick up a 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles against Jaina Burkett. Delany Canning defeated Maitreyi Shrikhande 6-2, 6-4 in their matchup at No. 6 singles. 

Wheaton travels to Illinois Wesleyan next Friday for a match against the Titans at 3:30 p.m.
