Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team (2-1) hosted Lake Forest (1-3) on Wednesday night under the lights at the Wheaton Tennis Courts. Wheaton won the non-conference matchup against the Foresters, 7-2.

The first Thunder victory of the evening came at No.3 doubles as the tandem of Alexandra Wachs and Lily Anne Van Ye topped Rebecca Daska and Maggie Fields, 8-2. The second of Wheaton's two wins in doubles play came from the No. 1 doubles team of Audrey Vick and Madeline Gentry as they topped the LFC tandem of Maria Jose Campos and Margaret Bugnacki.

Lydia Adams picked up the first Thunder win in singles play. She was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at No. 4 singles against Daskal. Van Ye was the next to post a Wheaton win as she closed out Isa Hinojosa, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Wachs defeated Sara Lopez, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, while Gentry earned the 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles against Campos. Vick was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at No. 2 singles against the Foresters' Margaret Bugnacki.

Wheaton opens conference play on Saturday morning at Augustana. The Thunder and the Vikings are scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. in Rock Island.
