Wheaton, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its 2022 All-CCIW Men's Tennis Team on Wednesday morning. Two members of the Wheaton men's tennis team earned All-CCIW recognition:
Cody Ching and
Jacob Williams. The duo helped lead the Thunder to a 13-6 overall record this season, including a 5-2 mark in CCIW play.
Ching is a First Team All-CCIW pick this season, earning his second career honor after earning Second Team All-CCIW recognition last Spring. Ching has playted at No. 1 singles for the Thunder this season competing 16 matches. He is 11-7 in doubles matches playing with four different doubles partners.
Williams is a Second Team All-CCIW honoree in his freshman season with the Thunder. He posted a 12-6 singles record this year, playing primariliy at No.2 singles. Williams was 13-6 in doubles play, competing at both No. 1 doubles and No. 2 doubles with teammate
Joey Geisz.
The Thunder men's tennis team opens up play at the CCIW Men's Tennis Championship on the campus of Carthage College tomorrow. No. 3 seed Wheaton faces No. 6 Illinois Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow in the first of four quarterfinal matches.
