Altamonte Springs, Florida - The Wheaton men's tennis team opened its Spring Break trip to the Orlando, Florida area on Monday afternoon with a 6-3 victory against Covenant College.
The Thunder won four of the six singles matches against Covenant today.
Cody Ching was a 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 victor at No. 1 singles against Covenant's Austin Dreslinski.
Jacob Williams earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Ethan Gibson.
Jack Wenzel defeated Solomon Crouch 6-4, 7-6 in their match at No. 3 singles.
Joey Geisz was a winner at No. 5 singles against Covenant's 6-2, 6-1.
Wenzel and
Tim Steiner teamed for an 8-3 victory against Ethan Gibson and Gill Duncan at No. 2 doubles.
Michael Walmer and Ching defeated Covenant's Tyler Kelly and Camden Lashley, 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Wheaton is now 5-2 on the season and returns to action on Wednesday against Bethel (Ind.).
