Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team hosted Lewis University, a NCAA Division II opponent on Friday afternoon at Center Court Athletic Club. The Flyers won the contest, 6-1. The team match utilized Division II scoring with the team that wins at least two of the three doubles matches garnering one point and one point for each singles win.
The Thunder No. 3 doubles team of
Cody Ching and
David Houlihan earned a 6-4 victory against the Flyers' tandem of Oliwer Wierzbicki and Andrej Zoranovic.
Tim Steiner earned a victory for the Thunder in singles action. He earned a hard-fought 6-4, 4-6, 12-10 win against Pedja Trifunovic at No. 4 singles.
The Thunder are off until next Saturday when Wheaton faces Lake Forest at 4:30 p.m. at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
