Hanover Park, Ill. -- The Wheaton men's tennis team kept up their positive momentum on Saturday evening, as the Thunder rolled to a comprehensive 7-2 victory over Concordia-Wisconsin in a nonconference meeting. Tonight's result is the fourth straight win for the men's squad and their record now sits at 4-2 for the season.
Tim Steiner was the standout performer for Wheaton today, as the freshman blew past his #4 singles opponent by a score of 6-1, 6-0, before teaming up with
Jack Wenzel to win their #2 doubles pairing by a comfortable 8-1 margin.
Joey Geisz and
Jacob Williams continued their hot form as the underclassmen combination took their #1 doubles match, 8-5, before each winning their singles contests in straight sets.The pairing only dropped a total of four games in individual play on Saturday.
Michael Walmer was victorious in his #6 singles matchup, easing past his Falcons rival at a 6-0, 6-2 clip.
Graham Shelton and
Cody Ching completed the doubles sweep for the Thunder when they won their #3 position, 8-5.
