Naperville, Ill. – The Wheaton's soccer team played No. 20 North Central College to a 0-0 draw in regulation on Wednesday night. Wheaton is now 1-6-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in CCIW play. North Central is 8-1-2 this year and 1-0-1 in conference play.
The Cardinals attempted five shots in the first 45 minutes, but only one shot on goal. Wheaton had four shots in the opening half, with four shots on goal. North Central goalkeeper Jordan Boyd made three saves in the first half and Wheaton netminder
Lauren Ketchum stopped one NCC shot. North Central was awarded three corner kicks in the first half and Wheaton attempted two.
Wheaton got off all three of its first-half shots on goal in the first 30 minutes before NCC had its first shot on goal. A little more than seven minutes into the match,
Tori Seeland took a shot that was stopped by Boyd.
Sophie Lindquist took a shot that was stopped by Boyd in the 25
th minute and Boyd stopped another Seeland shot in the 29
th minute. Ketchum's lone first-half save came in the 30
th minute on a shot by North Central's Sophia Hein.
North Central got off 12 shots in the second half, including three shots on goal. Wheaton was credited with nine shots in the final 45 minutes, with one shot on goal. Ketchum made three saves in the second half and Boyd stopped one shot. NCC was awarded four corner kicks in the second half and Wheaton had two.

Rebekah Max put up a shot in the 53
rd minute that was stopped by Boyd. Just a few minutes later Elle Sutter of NCC put up a shot that was saved by Ketchum in the 55
th minute and Ketchum stopped Kaitlyn Cannon's shot in the 57
th minute. Ketchum's final save of the night was her stop of a shot by Cannon in the 82
nd minute. Wheaton's
Audrey Sexson had a shot attempt that was blocked by a NCC defender in the 85
th minute and she had another in the final minute that sailed over the goal as the contest ended in a draw.
North Central had 17 shots in the match, with Wheaton attempting 13, while each team had four shots on goal in the match. Ketchum made four saves in recording her third shutout of the season.
The Thunder return home for the next match. The squad hosts Elmhurst on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. as part of Wheaton's Homecoming weekend activities.
