Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon with a CCIW matchup against Elmhurst (6-4, 0-4 CCIW) at home. The Thunder shut out the Bluejays 9-0 to improve Wheaton to 7-2 on the season, with a 5-2 record in CCIW play.
Madeline Gentry earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles against Elmhurst's Jolene Neuhalfen.
Audrey Vick picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win against Julia Kostadinova in their match at No 2 singles. Senior
Abygale Ahn defeated Isabella Rahman 6-0, 6-0 in their matchup at No. 3 singles.
Alexandra Wachs was a 6-0, 6-1 winner against June Bering at No. 4 singles. Wheaton's
Lydia Adams picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles against Brynn Rubacky.
Janet Kondo won a 6-2, 6-4 decision against Silvia Barak at No. 6 singles.
The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Gentry and Ahn defeated Neuhalfen and Kostadinova 8-1. Adams and Vick teamed up at No. 2 doubles for an 8-0 victory against Rahman and Bering. Wachs and
Lily Anne Van Ye defeated Elmhurst's No. 3 doubles team of Brynn Rubacky and Megan Engstrom 8-2.
Wheaton remains at home for its next match as the Thunder host North Park on Friday at 5:00 p.m. in a CCIW matchup.
