Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team hosted North Park (5-3, 2-3 CCIW) on Friday evening in a CCIW match. The Thunder topped the Vikings 9-0 in the league meeting. Tonight's match was the final home match of the 2022-23 fall schedule for Wheaton. The Thunder are now 8-2 this season with a 5-1 record in CCIW play
Wheaton won all three doubles matches against the Vikings tonight. The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of
Abygale Ahn and
Madeline Gentry earned an 8-0 victory against the Vikings' tandem of Marie Fuehrer and Nina Kisin.
Audrey Vick and
Janet Kondo teamed up for an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles against Maddie Starr and Kate Vinson. Wheaton's No. 3 doubles team of
Alexandra Wachs and
Lily Anne Van Ye earned an 8-1 win against Olivia De Luca and Anna Miller.
Gentry easily defeated Fuehrer 6-0, 6-0 in their match at No. 1 singles. Vick defeated Kisin 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and Ahn picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles against Starr. Wachs was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at No. 4 singles against DeLuca, and
Lydia Adams earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Vinson at No. 5 singles. Kondo earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles against North Park's Emma Trais.
Wheaton will conclude the fall season next Saturday in a conference match at North Central.
