Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory at home on Saturday against Lake Forest College (1-1). The Thunder victory was second of the weekend for the 'Orange and Blue' as Wheaton improves to 2-0.

The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Abygale Ahn and Audrey Vick earned an 8-4 victory against the Lake Forest tandem of Maria Jose Campos and Sara Lopez. Wheaton's other victory in doubles play came at No. 3 as the team of Sarah Backer and Lily Van Ye were 8-0 victors against the Foresters' Natalia Leite and Emily Bross.

Ahn earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles against Campos. Vick picked up her second singles win of the weekend with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Lopez at No. 2 singles. Backer defeated Katie Wegrecki 6-3, 6-1 in their match at No. 4 singles and Lydia Adams was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at No. 6 singles against Isa Hinojosa of LFC.

The Thunder will travel to Elmhurst on Wednesday, September 8 to open CCIW play for the 2021-22 season. Wednesday's matchup against Bluejays is slated to start at 4:00 p.m.
