Warrenville, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder cross country teams hosted the 2021 Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday morning at St. James Farm Forest Preserve. The Wheaton women's program finished fifth in the 13-team field.
University of Chicago scored 33 points in first place, Elmhurst was second with 76 points, Illinois Wesleyan tallied 106 points in third place, North Central's women placed fourth with 116 points, Wheaton finished fifth with 142 points, Ripon scored 163 points in sixth place, Carroll finished seventh with 164 points, Millikin was eighth with 193 points, Carthage scored 237 points in ninth place, Augustana finished 10th with 291 points, North Park was 11th with 320 points, Dominican scored 381 points in 12th place and Rockford finished 13th with 393 points.

Susannah Bennett was the top performer for the Thunder in 13th place with a time of 23:26.2. Senior
Kirsten Wikner was 17th for the Thunder in 23:34.7. Senior
Caroline Kimble placed 34th in 24:41.0 and fellow senior
Morgan Moxley was just behind her in 36th with a time of 24:42.7. Sophomore
Michaela Kustra placed 25:15.7, junior
Chloe Veth posted a time of 25:32.4 in 62nd place and
Elisabeth Marsh was 65th in 25:36.6.
Wheaton returns to action on October at Augustana's "Brissman Lundeen Invitational" at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island.
