Tacoma, Wash. - The Wheaton women's soccer team concluded its two-match trip to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday with a match at University of Puget Sound (4-0-0). The Loggers defeated Wheaton 1-0 as the hosts earned the narrow victory. Wheaton is now 1-2-1 on the season and will return to action on September 15 at University of Chicago.
The matchup was scoreless for the first 30-plus minutes. The Loggers broke the tie at 31:58 into the match at Genny Kilka scored her second goal of the season to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Jilka collected the ball off a ricochet and tapped the ball into the net for the Loggers' goal. UPS out-shot Wheaton 10-3 in the first half in controlling the pace of the match.
Wheaton held a 4-3 advantage in shots in the second half, however, the Thunder could not score the equalizer.
Puget Sound out-shot the Thunder 13-7 for the entire match. However, Wheaton held a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. The Loggers were awarded four corner kicks, with Wheaton attemptiing one.

Lauren Ketchum made three saves with one goal allowed in 90 minutes of work. Chaylea Tome made four saves in the Loggers' net in recording the shutout for the hosts.
