Rock Island, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team traveled to the Quad Cities on Tuesday for a conference match at Augustana. The Vikings (9-5, 6-1 CCIW) edged the Thunder 5-4.
Wheaton is now 6-4 on the season, including a 4-2 record in CCIW play. The match was rescheduled to this afternoon from its original scheduled date of Thursday, April 29 due to rain in the forecast for Thursday.
Augustana won two of the three doubles matches this afternoon. In the match at No. 2 doubles, the Vikings rallied from a 7-3 deficit to win the match 8-7 in a tiebreaker.

Jacob Panjwani teamed for an 8-4 Thunder victory at No. 3 doubles against the Vikings' team of Eliot St. Paul and Leonardo Panosso.
Cody Ching earned a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 victory for the Thunder at No. 2 singles against Augustana's Alvaro Leal.
Jack Wenzel was a 6-2, 6-4 victor at No. 3 singles against Peter Alex. Panjwani defeated Augustana's Justin Cassens 6-2, 6-3 in their match at No. 6 singles.
The Thunder close out the regular season on Saturday at home against Carroll University. Saturday's match against the Pioneers is slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
