Wheaton, Ill. - Registration for the Wheaton College Athletics Department summer camps are now open for summer of 2021 with the return of
basketball,
wrestling and
soccer camps, as well as the addition of a youth
football camp and an
all sports camp.
The summer camps serve to teach game skills, with a Christian perspective of character development. Each camp is run by the Wheaton College head coaches and staffs of the respective sports.
All Wheaton Athletic summer camps will operate under the guidance of state, local, and institutional COVID-19 protocols as established at the time that the camp is conducted. As such, all protocols are subject to change and some camps may be held to a limited capacity. If you have questions regarding any summer camps, please email

Wheaton head men's basketball coach
Mike Schauer will be the camp director for the 54th annual Wheaton College Basketball Camp. Over 11,000 young men and women have attended the camp over the years and the camp places emphasis on the teaching of the fundamentals of the game and the teaching of character development.
Day camps are available August 2-6 for boys and girls grades 1-4. Boys and girls in grades 5-8 will also run August 2-6.

Wrestling camp will enter its 10th year under Wheaton head wrestling coach
Jim Gruenwald. Gruenwald, in his 12th year at Wheaton, was a two-time member of the U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling team. He finished sixth at 60 kg at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and was 10th at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. A three-time U.S. Champion, Gruenwald completed his competitive career in 2008 as a National Champion, and also won titles in 2003 and 2004.
The wrestling camps will be geared towards grades 1-12. Wrestlers will be grouped based on ability and experience. The wrestling camp will be offered on July 13-15 and July 27-29 with advanced sessions taking place in the afternoon.

Wheaton men's soccer coach
Jake DeClute will run two camps this summer. For the first time, men's soccer will provide a youth soccer camp for kids ages 6-9 from 10-11 am running from June 14-18.
The Wheaton men's soccer program will also host a one-day prospect ID camp on August 7 at Joe Bean Stadium.

Jesse Scott and the Thunder football program are pleased to announce a new youth football camp coming in the summer of 2021 for boys and girls ages 5-14 running in the mornings from June 14-17.

Andrew Bowers will serve as the director for an all sports camp offering for boys and girls entering grades 1-5 in the fall of 2021. Activities will include football, basketball, dodgeball, swimming, kickball, and more.
