Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team hosted Millikin University (9-6, 4-3 CCIW) for a CCIW match on Saturday afternoon. The Thunder defeated the Big Blue 8-1 as Wheaton improves to 7-3 overall and 6-1 in CCIW play.
Prior to today's match, the Thunder honored its three seniors

Claire Dibble and
Mary Streller teamed for Wheaton's first win of the day. The duo earned an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles against Destiny Galvan and Shelby Jones.
Emme Lindquist and
Abygale Ahn teamed for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles against the Millikin duo of Cristina Borunda and Brianna Barconi. Wheaton's third win in doubles play came from the No. 3 doubles team of
Bethany Hoogerheide and
Sarah Backer.
Hoogerheide earned Wheaton's first victory in singles play. She was a 6-2, 6-0 victor at No. 5 singles against Danielle Beard. Ahn defeated Barconi 6-1, 6-1 in their match at No. 2 singles. Backer defeated Katie Cooper 6-2, 6-1 in their match at No. 6 singles. Dibble earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Borunda in their match at No. 3 singles. The final Thunder victory of the afternoon was a 6-0, 7-6 win for
Mary Streller at No. 4 singles against Millikin's Taylor Milholland.
Wheaton concludes its regular season Thursday, April 22 against Elmhurst. The Thunder host the Bluejays at 4:45 p.m. in the matchup.
