Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton women's team (0-1) hosted Lake Forest College (1-1) on Friday night in the season opener for the Thunder. The Foresters rallied to edge Wheaton 5-4 in tonight's contest.

Wheaton led Lake Forest 2-1 at the end of doubles action as Wheaton earned victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of Claire Dibble and Mary Streller earned an 8-3 victory against Lake Forest's team of Margaret Bugnacki and Emma Wang. Bethany Hoogerheide teamed with a returning Lindsey Anderson for an 8-7 victory at No. 3 doubles against Grace Gould and MJ Campos.

Abygale Ahn was a 6-2, 6-3 victor at No. 2 singles against Campos. Streller earned a Wheaton win at No. 4 singles against Tyranny Miller 6-2, 6-3.

Wheaton opened conference play next Friday afternoon with a matchup against Carroll University. The Thunder will play the Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
