Racine, Wis. - The Wheaton women's tennis team faced Carthage College on the road Saturday afternoon in a CCIW matchup. The Thunder earned an 8-1 victory against the Firebirds. Wheaton improves to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play with today's victory. Carthage is now 2-3 on the season with a 1-2 CCIW record.
Emme Lindquist and
Abygale Ahn earned a win for the Thunder at No. 1 doubles in an 8-4 victory.
Claire Dibble teamed with
Mary Streller for an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Lindquist earned a 6-0, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles against Carthage's Sam Ramsey. Ahn earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles against Rachel Anderson.
Claire Dibble was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles against Sierra Sonnemaker; and
Mary Streller earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles versus Faelan O'Shaughnaessy.
Bethany Hoogerheide picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against Stephanie Yerges.
Caroline Park defeated Calida Werner 6-2, 6-0.
Wheaton returns to action on Saturday, April 3 with a conference match at Augustana College.
