Hanover Park, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team hosted Concordia University (Wis.) on Saturday in a non-conference matchup at Centre Court Athletic Club. Wheaton shut out the Falcons 9-0 as the Thunder improve to 2-2 and Concordia is 3-4 on the year.
Wheaton won all three doubles matches on Saturday. The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of
Emme Lindquist and
Abygale Ahn earned an 8-5 victory against the Falcons' Ricki Budewitz and Ashley Samulta. Wheaton earned an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles as
Mary Streller and
Claire Dibble defeated Mia Andrae and Elizabeth Johnson.
Lindsey Anderson teamed with
Bethany Hoogerheide for an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles against Auden Pearson and Mallory Moen.
Lindqust defeated Budewitz 6-1, 7-5 in their matchup at No. 1 singles. Ahn was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 2 singles against Samuta and Dibble defeated Moen 6-3, 6-3 in their match at No. 3 singles. Streller topped Andrae 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and Hoogerheide defeated Johnson 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Caroline Park Park defeated Pearson at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.Â
Wheaton returns to conference play next Saturday in a match at Carthage College.Â
