Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team (1-1) returned to action on Thursday afternoon with a match against NCAA Division II opponent, Lewis University (3-4). The Flyers edged the Thunder 5-4 in the match.
Today's competition opened with singles play. Wheaton's first victory of the day was recorded by senior
Anderson Park in a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Juan Martin Ramirez Mejia at No. 1 singles. Wheaton's
Jacob Panjwani was a 6-2, 7-5 victor at No. 5 singles against Daniel Sowa of Lewis. Thunder senior
Alex Winters defeated Lewis' Jeremy Charles 7-6, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Wheaton picked up one win in doubles play as Panjwani and Winters teamed up for an 8-4 victory against Jonathan Maghirang and Daniel Sowa at No. 3 doubles.Â
The Thunder men's tennis team returns to action on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. when the Thunder hosts Concordia (Wis.) at Centre Court Athletic Club in Hanover Park.
