Wheaton, Ill. – The Thunder men's basketball team, ranked seventh in this week's D3hoops.com Top-15 Poll, defeated North Park 69-59 on Tuesday night in King Arena. Wheaton remains undefeated with a 6-0 record this season (6-0 CCIW), and North Park is 1-6 overall (1-6 CCIW).
Junior
Nyameye Adom scored 30 points for the Thunder, making a game-high four three-pointers. Adom dished out five assists, grabbed five rebounds and snagged a steal.
Tyson Cruickshank scored 14 points, with five assists and two steals.
Luke Anthony scored nine points.
Cade Alioth grabbed 11 rebounds, with six points and two assists.
Collin Uveges scored six points on a pair key second-half three-pointers.
Eli Considine grabbed six rebounds.
The Thunder shot 45.3% (24-of-53) from the field tonight, including 40.9% (9-of-22) from three-point range. North Park posted a 41.7% (25-60) field goal percentage, including 10% (1-of-10) behind the three-point arc. Wheaton shot 80% (12-of-15) at the free throw line and North Park had a 57.1% (8-of-14) effort at the charity stripe. North Park held a 38-31 advantage in rebounding, including a 13-5 edge on the offensive glass for the guests. North Park committed 13 turnovers as Wheaton scored 17 points off NPU turnovers tonight.
The majority of the first half was tightly contested, including a 20-19 Thunder lead with six minutes remaining in the opening period. Wheaton closed out the final six minutes of the half with an 11-2 run as the Thunder led 31-21 at halftime. Adom scored 20 points in the first half tonight, on 8-of-14 shooting from the field and a 3-for-5 effort from three-point range. Cruickshank had five assists in the opening half and Alioth grabbed eight rebounds in the period.

Wheaton held an eight point advantage at 41-33 with 12:10 remaining in the second half when North Park made a basket to start a 13-4 run for the Vikings. The run gave the guests a 46-45 lead with 8:10 left in the game, the Vikings' first lead of the second half. North Park led 48-47 with 6:45 left in the game when a basket by Adom sparked a string of 11 unanswered points for the Thunder to give Wheaton a 58-48 lead with 4:15 remaining in the game. Uveges (PICTURED LEFT) made a three-pointer after Adom's basket, followed by a trifecta by Adom and capped by a Cruickshank trey. Another Uveges three-pointer with 2:30 left in the game was key as it accounted for a 61-53 Wheaton lead.
Marek scored 20 points with five rebounds for the Vikings. Izaiah Sanders tallied 15 points for the guests and Jordan Boyd registered 11 points with nine rebounds.
